The Welsh Karate Collective was formed in July 2006 by its Chief Instructor Bo Channon - 5th Dan in Shotokan Karate and immediately applied for membership of the Welsh Karate Governing Body Ltd to ensure that all it's members received the optimum opportunities for safe and best practice and service which should be available to all Karateka in Wales.

Being in membership of the Welsh Karate Governing Body Ltd, which is the only Sports Council for Wales and W.A.G. recognised and funded Body is the only route to enable Welsh Karate athletes to compete at the National, International and World arena. We pride ourselves as an Association of our wealth of experience. Sensei Bo Channon has been practicing Shotokan Karate for some 32 years, and our ability to pass that experience on to our students, many of whom have achieved National and International status.

We do not feel the need to boast of our individual achievements, but we are proud of the respect that we as a relatively young Association have achieved within the field of Welsh Karate, and feel positive about our continued success in the future.
